You're gay. You're going to get HIV. You're going to die.

I didn't mean it in a mean way. I meant it in a practical way.
No amount of money can help him now. The doctors said "with treatment" he will live 12-16 months.

Right. Wrong. And right. I will die some day.
But I won't whine about people not giving me money to keep me alive.

I bet even on chemo, this ex-marine could still kick you or your boyfriend's ass (but you might like that?)

Well I bet I could give a better blow job than him.

He was making the statement to show how ludicrous yours is. Not all smokers get lung cancer. In fact, not even a majority do. Compare this to saying that all gays get HIV.

If you had HIV/AIDS and there was a viable treatment which cost $400k which you couldn't afford, I'm sure you too would try to find the money somewhere. Nobody wants to die.

being gay isn't a choice... smoking is. not only that, but you're predicting the future, whereas zyso-whatever stated what has already happened.

Ok lets just assume for the sake of argument that being gay is in fact not a choice. Poking your willy-wonka up some dudes poop chute or not is a choice as is engaging in otherwise risky behavior or not.

No. I didn't.

I never made any generalizations. Not 1.

He said it himself in another article. He figured he would get it.
His smoking, cancer, and death will have nothing to do with him being a marine.

OH and its cancer so time is a factor the longer you take getting us our money so we can save your life the less the chance is that we can save you, OH and no we dont take payments, what if you die, we wont get ours. What happened for the love for your fellow being without the money being involved, it seems from the story they have a good chance of saving this mans life with their treatment, but because he doesnt have the funds upfront its cool that they dont give him the treatment and he dies. I hate that will so much passion it sickens me.

Funny how you expect others to work full time for free, yet you don't.

Funny that you don't grasp the concept that a country as far away as CANADA he could get the treatments for free. The Medical system in the US is a scam plain and simple. It's all about making the $$$. The Hippocratic Oath should be renamed to the hypocrite oath. Dr. Act like they care about the patient, but the only one the care about is the patients wallet.
I went to the Dr. to see about getting a vasectomy, and was told all the glorious benifits of it and how simple it was and that it took no more than 5 minutes to perform in the office. Then I was told the cost. $1400. My insurance company wont pay for it because it's elective, and so I told the Dr. sorry, can't do it. They then tried to haggle with me over the price so I would do it they even suggested a medical credit card I could get. I always had my doubts, but that confirmed it.

Also for the winner, if he can't get the money together to do this, he needs to set up a trust fund and help others. If his $50k a year can be moved into a charitable account it should be tax free or less taxes on it. It will help other people treat cancer. Or he can tell his buddy as his dying wish he will sign the winnings over to him but he has to use it to help others.

Hardly a reason to show respect. There are thousands of marines who are complete scum and deserve no respect.

Your statement implied that all smokers get lung cancer. I realize you will argue about semantics now because you're an asshat, but you know what your intention was when you first typed the statement.

He was a smoker. He got lung cancer. He is going to die.
You can read between the lines or find the hidden meaning that isn't there. Doesn't much matter to me.

As an impartial third party I'd like to say I didn't take it that way at all. There's certainly nothing in what he wrote that indicates that he meant that, it's your own inference.

I took it to mean that he doesn't feel particularly sorry for the guy, because his cancer was caused by his own actions. But again nothing in what he wrote indicates he meant that, it's my own inference.

All he wrote was the facts of the matter. Nothing more.

Funny how you expect others to work full time for free, yet you don't.

HUGE difference between working and persons life, once your dead your dead, there is no coming back.

It be like standing next to say a person drowning in water, it cant swim and there you stand next to it on the dock holding a life jacket that can save its life. Do you ask to give you $20 and you will give it the jacket or go, oh damn thats right you dont work, your broke, oh well. And keep the jacket and walk over to the next person who is drowning, till you find one holding $20?

Were not talking about buying a jacket, or an addition onto a house, or a big screen tv with suck me off action and killer audio here its a persons life, with feelings, and loved ones who love the person who is dying, who may have children, who will deeply miss that person, who may do good and be able to pay back the money owed or a dept to society if they had the chance and treatment to go on, it is a human being, you get one shot on this earth, you may not like that person who is dying or know the person who is dying but damnit someone does and will be missed, and it just sucks that if there is a treatment out there that can prolong a persons time on this earth it shouldnt go to the highest bidder or the one holding all the cards and fvck the people who cannot afford it. because they are broke doesnt make their life any less Valuable then a person who is worth a sh!t load more and drive s a fancy car, lives in a mansion, and hundreds of friends. That man HAS a friend that is going to miss him and to him he is priceless but to others its doesnt matter just as long as they get theirs.

I can understand if this guy was asking for $400K to get a dick inlargement, of fat taken off his body, but this is so the man may be able to prolong his life, HIS ****** LIFE, and yes I take a little to heart because I and my brothers lost our mother and father, and both sets of grandparents and all at a very young age, My children now dont get to meet anyone on my side of the family due to cancer and the fact we were to poor to afford any "real" treatment that would of saved their lives and it pisses me off that people think this way about another human being to put a price tag on them when so many people will miss them for generations.

AND YES if I came up with a treatment, or a cure I would GIVE it away, if people wanted to donate money to me fine, but I wouldnt charge a fvcking dime for it to see the faces on all the people lives it would save, the children's faces to have their parents or grandparents stick around even if it was for another 6 more months, if it was their last hope and it meant something to them and I went bankrupt because of it I would do it, it is life, not a product, or a possession, but a loved one, a human being. How can another human being truly put a price on that in beyond me.

If he wants to prolong his life, he should STFU, sell the lottery ticket, and sell his tavern. He's worried that selling the lottery ticket wouldn't be enough money alone, and selling the tavern wouldn't be enough alone, but I sure as hell bet selling both would be.

So selling the tavern might take too long. Well he already wasted a month since winning the lotto, and I'm sure he could've started the process a few months ago.

And is that miracle cure from the bottomless bag that you keep tied to your belt? Its not like the care hes going to get magically appears from some secret drug company's vault. People dedicate their entire lives to this and deserve to be compensated.

Me throwing a drowning person a $50 jacket and spending 10 minutes to help them is on a totally different scale then spending my teens, 20's and 30's in school and research and then working for nothing to save an endless line of people and drive home in my 94 civic to my 1 bedroom apartment.

In the perfect world, people with the ability will help, and then in turn they'll get what they deserve, but you know what, its not perfect and people are greedy aholes who get pets and then later decide its not worth the trouble anymore and theres nothing you can do about it, is there.

Unless you're actually a super genius mouse with a stupid sidekick and one night your plans of domination will come to fruition.

Wow those doctors must be making a killing... I am going to assume there is a pretty big profit involved for a $400k batch of treatments.
