<< STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Basic foods eaten by millions around the world such as bread, biscuits, potato chips and french fries contain alarmingly high quantities of acrylamide, a substance believed to cause cancer, Swedish scientists said on Wednesday. >>

<< a substance believed to cause cancer >>

I read it causes cancer on animals, but there hasn't been any evidence that it would cause cancer on humans too.

Still... the amounts of french fries and chips I eat... are insane...

I think I'm going to buy myself a loaf of french bread tonight.

Everything causes cancer. Sunlight, bread, sex, I give up.

If I get cancer, so be it, I'm not going to live my life in fear.

If this actually comes out as legitmate, it could GREATLY impact the fast food and packaged food industry. 😱

If you go back to all the studies released on foods that "may contributed to causing cancer" you'd be hard pressed to find anything but water that you could safely consume. Milk is full of chemicals, vegetables aren't safe anymore, now this.

In conclusion just stop worrying. Unless you're eating aspartame cubes for breakfast or sucking down a pack of smokes a day or you like to spend 15 hours/week in the baking sun at peak UV with baby oil on no cause for alarms, folks. Move on!

Screw it! I'll take a large order of fries, a large Pepsi, some Kool Aid, a few chocolate chip cookies, some ice cream with extra fat, and just for giggles I'm going to start smoking. Ohhhh give me a bottle of Jack to wash it all down with.

What the hell doesn't cause cancer? Everything is relative. You could probably drink enough water to give yourslef cancer if you really wanted to. How about we just go ahead and say that life if the number one cause of cancer and get it over with.

The Downtrodden Song - Dennis Leary

You know, we spend a lot of time in this show talking about death and disease and cancer and catastrophe and we do it because, well I think it's f*&#ing funny. We want to send you home now, with an upbeat number, with a dance number, with a song that'll put a smile on your face and a nice warm feeling down here in the cockles.

Everything is horrible
Really really really terrible
I'm really depressed
I'm really downtrodden

The whole world is doomed
We're all gonna die
25,672 people die every single minute
Seventeen hundred and fifty people just died

Cancer
Death
Aids
Inflation
Taxes
George Bush
Hell
Satan
Cancer of the face
Cancer of the colon
Cancer of the write
and John Denver on compact disc

So fcking gay...
what next? sitting in a chair causes cancer, walking causes cancer.... ??? give me a break... i will eat MORE FRENCH FRIES because of that stupid BS!!!!!

There was a program in the Discovery channel about what bread and biscuit did to monkeys in India. Shrine goers would visit this monkey-infested temple and feed the monkey with processed food like bread and biscuit. In a few years, some of the monkey grew tumors and suffered from other ailments that are not known to afflict them in the past. Study suggested that the feeding on bread/biscuit prevents these monkeys from getting immune-system-building nutrients they would get from their natural diet.

Cardiovascular diseases, from what I read, was not known before the turn of the 1900. Now you can get angioplasty over the weekend.
How about increasing cases of Type-2 diabetes? 😀😀😀

The sky ain't falling! But it's a good warning to the wise (or at least a tad wiser than those indian monkeys).
Moderation would just do wonder.

Whooa, stop preaching for now.

Edit: a little disclosure, I am addicted to Pringles chips.
