Canadians: Which bank is the best/worst?

I'm going to murder someone at the Bank of Montreal tomorrow. After, I will take my (significant) business elsewhere.

With whom do you bank?

Steer cleer of TD Canada Trust. I'd go with RBC or CIBC. Or find a decent Credit Union.

On a very distantly related topic, i hate Bank of Montreal's debit cards :|

At every ******' job i've had, their gawddamn cards will not swipe properly.


But on topic, i like RBC. They've been good to me. Heck they even gave me a small credit line out of the blue, & i don't think i have that great credit.

I used RBC & ING with no problems but I would look for a good credit union.

Toronto Dominion Bank before it became TDCT.

I use CIBC because that's where I've always had my account. No complaints, though they haven't done anything out of the ordinary either.

i've been using my BM debit card for years with no problems

my dad swears by scotia though and keeps trying to get me to switch

I've been a TD customer for years and they still treat me like crap at times. On the other hand, I've been VERY impressed with ScotiaBank, and I'm considering moving all of my accounts there. I think CIBC is good too, but I don't have any personal experience with them.

i've been with Royal for a long time, and i refuse to terminate my account despite my wife's constant nudging 😛

we also use PC Financial, and enjoy their services.

I used RBC, they are good for me although their credit card sucks so I cancelled it (90% of my web orders were refused)

I've been a ScotiaBank customer for years.. my inlaw has worked there for 25 years and we have lots of connections so it works best for us.

I've been with Bank of Montreal since I was a kid... they have never gave me a problem.
