Canadians know how to party

Aharami

Lifer
Spent the weekend in Montreal for my bachelor party, and man was it a blast! 13 of us drove up from NJ on Fri and got back late Sun night/Mon morning. The entire weekend was a drunken blur but so much fun. The city (or the parts I saw) is so clean and beautiful - and Im not a big city lover. One thing that we all noticed was that almost everyone there is good looking - old, young, men, women, all fashionable and extremely good looking. They are also friendly as well. We were talking and dancing with type of girls who wouldn't even look at us in any nyc bar/lounge.

The highlight of the trip was probably a toss-up between partying at club Opera and going go-karting. Opera was hands down the best club Ive ever been to. The club is huge and well appointed on the inside; girls there are hot and friendly; music was quite good; and drinks were cheap. NYC needs some clubs like Opera. Heck US needs some cities like Montreal. Go-karting was quite fun too. This was my first time in real go-karts and those things are FAST! There were some close calls when I almost crashed into other cars, but came out unscathed.

Still recuperating from the weekend. But ready to go back again.

Being a french canadian and moved to mtl a few years ago and everything you stated is true.

People is general are good looking and take good care of themselves thus making the environment reflect this fact. You said the girls are friendly and hot, well guess what, most are very ''friendly''.

Over all i think we (ppl living in mtl) tend to forget how awesome mtl is.

you guys are lucky up there.
if I was still single, I'd seriously consider moving up there

I swear to God they don't let the ugly people out in Montreal. I've been there over a dozen times and I can't help but stare at all the girls.

But Montreal does have a lot of...dirty areas. But they're still awesome.

Where are the go carts there? I go up there every now and then, only a little over a hour from me here in VT.

there are a couple. my best man set it up, so i'll have to ask him for the name and address. apparently we had a choice between an outdoor and indoor one. Since it was raining that morning, we chose the indoor one. Was a blast nevertheless. $65 CAD for nearly an hour of go carting

Need pics to determine whether vacation is warranted.

trust me, you'll love the place. we met some fine ass girls in the club. my cousin knows a promoter in Montreal who got us in club Opera (no way would 13 guys have gotten in otherwise). we set the whole thing up a bit too late to order a VIP booth, but according to him, if you get a VIP booth there, the hostess brings girls to party with you

One thing though: Montreal is quite dirty as far as Canadian cities go and it's damn ugly too (at least the core near the bus station is).

This is true. Great people, love the cosmopolitan feel and the old french in parts of it. The food culture is quite nice too with all the little delis and restaurants all over the place selling fantastic food for sub-McDonald's prices.

It's probably the only city in Canada I'd seriously consider moving away from Vancouver for.

Oh, fun (lame) thing to try in Montreal:

When you go into a restaurant, the host/hostess will come up and say "bonjour hello" to you. If you respond with "bonjour" they speak french to you. If you respond with "hello" they will speak english.

Go in to a restaurant with a friend. When greeted, say hello and have your friend say bonjour.

we inadvertently did that already. one of my friends was trying to impress all the ladies with his french (except that the only words he knew were bonjour and merci). anyways, we walked into this fancy restaurant - Da Vinci (awesome food btw), and the hot hostess greeted us exactly how you said - i responded with hello and my friend simultaneously responded with bonjour. The hostess stared at us for a good five seconds before continuing.
