Today is a big day in Canadian Parliament. PM Harper is leading his Conservative government in a debate on a motion to provide air-strike support to the efforts against ISIS. It will pass, but not without some pointless debate.

It's pointless for a few reasons (aside from the fact that it is a foregone conclusion that ISIS needs to be eradicated and Canada should assist in the international coalition). First, our leader of the official opposition is more concerned with cost and exit strategy than justice. Second, the leader of our third party, Justin Trudeau, doesn't have a clue what is going on and instead of having an educated opinion he is doing what he does best: pandering to women. His own party is currently arguing against him in his assertion that Canada should sit by the sidelines, wave pom-poms, and make sure everyone has enough gatorade.

All this despite overwhelming support among Canadians to have an active military role. Trudeau is such an embarrassment to Canada.

Why the hell does Canada want in on this lunacy? They have no dog in this hunt.

waiting for the obligatory joke about Canada's single tank...

Not too far off. Lol all this political drama over whether or not to send what will amount to a trivial amount of support.

In the coming weeks: "Canadian F18 blows up pickup truck"

You do know that ISIL is fighting terrorists don't you? Oops that right, suicide bombing is a terrorist action unless the side we support does it. The West is one big fucking joke. Shame on Canada for their involvement in this.

A female Kurdish fighter has carried out a suicide attack in the besieged Syrian town of Kobane, killing an unknown number of fighters from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a monitoring group has said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the woman blew herself up at an ISIL position east of Kobane on Sunday, detonating a grenade that was in her possession, killing ISIL fighters in the process.

"The operation caused deaths, but there is no confirmed number," observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The monitor said the woman was a commander in the female unit of the People's Protection Units, known by its Kurdish initials YPG, which had stormed an ISIL gathering on the eastern outskirts of the town.

The neighbor down needs a favor.

The favor America needs is for Canada to embargo the war mongering United States until it cleans up its act. Egging America on is a favor that the world does not need.

That's a very bad idea. A Canadian embargo on America would bankrupt the entire country in days.

I'm not going to pretend that Harper is a gem, but I am going to say that Trudeau and Mulcair shit the bed on this issue in a huge way. They have no idea what Canadians are thinking about this. They're oblivious.

Yeah I'm not understanding why they are so staunchly holding against it. After ISIS told people to attack Canada/Canadians it pretty much guaranteed majority support here to drop some ordinance on them.

I don't think there would be a debate if invading Iraq hadn't been such a clusterf**k. No one wants to to be seen as agreeable to another mess like what Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld created.

You're debating with BS Hole. One of the forum's biggest running jokes and losers. You're not going to get anything approaching adult understanding and discourse.
That being said, I applaud your efforts.

Context matters. IMO, IED's in battle against enemy troops is not terrorism, it's a combat tactic. So called 'suicide missions' are not unknown.

Otherwise, ISIL is likely fighting other terrorists. Different groups of terrorists wanting the same thing will fight each other for it. Not sure how that's noteworthy.
