On a somewhat related note, a Canadian reporter doing a piece on the icemakers(Canadian), claims to have imbedded a Canadian Loonie(dollar coin) into center ice. 😀

I suspect that the icemakers would have removed it, but for kicks pay attention to center ice and look for a small brass coloured circle that's about the size of a US dollar coin.

LOL - thats the attitude I expect around here...

BTW - your men's team are currently turning out to be just as big losers as your women's team... 😀

One would have thought the 'marching bands' crack would have diffused potential flames. I stand corrected.

The loonie at centre ice story is absolutely true. You could plainly see a small brass-coloured dot at centre ice proper. To achieve the best ice possible, they borrowed the best ice makers from across the NHL. The head guy came from Edmonton, which is widely regarded as the best ice in the NHL.

The loonie was presented to Gretzky after the men's game.
