Canadian Court Approves Same-Sex Marriage

I wish someone would just legalize it, and forget about it. I'm just sick of hearing about it now. Saying it will never happen is like saying we will win the war on drugs. It's not going away.

Why don't we just give Canada to the gays?
I would prefer to export morons of questionable morals . . . then again that would be a lot of empty red states.

You mean people still have morals?

Everyone has morals (set of beliefs about behaviors). The problem is that everyone thinks their morals are good.

Immoral (means bad set of behaviors/beliefs): self-righteous typically apply this tag to anyone that thinks or behaves differently than themselves

Amoral (means without morals): by definition capitalism is amoral . . . but again anyone that wants to justify their behaviors will attach some "good" moral significance to their behavior even if the connection is specious at best.

Guns and bullets are inherently amoral. Most believe that using guns/bullets to kill the innocent is immoral. Some believe using guns/bullets to kill anyone is immoral. Both of these groups often cite the same moral authority (religious/spiritual).

The civil underpinnings of marriage are inherently moral in the sense that the state wants to codify/protect the rights of the couple/family. For many years, some states codified "who" could get married b/c they didn't approve of some unions (interracial, in particular). Obviously, most people (today) consider such behavior immoral even if they don't necessarily agree with it. Canadians have apparently reached that same conclusion for homosexual marriage. Per norm, the US is a few steps behind our northern neighbor when it comes to practicing morality instead of just preaching it.

It is because of our Liberal government of 3 terms in a row. The US is run by ultra conservative christians who are scared of what gay marriage will do to the institution of marriage.
