Wtf did the guy light up?

Or is he a sorcerer and was going to use the flame for evil purposes?

It happens pretty fast, but the guy lit his newspaper (or whatever it was) on the olympic torch as it passed... you don't fuck with the olympic flame apparently, even though it wasn't really 'fucked with' at all.

if it was a joint, which it probably was, he did.

I didn't see the officer question him. I didn't see the officer examine what he lit up. I didn't even see anything in his hand, just thought he wanted to touch the torch. How on earth could the officer have made a decision that fast that he broke the law or was endangering the public?

I think it should be respected and taken seriously

It wasn't the olympic torch. you very clearly see the olympic torch go running past and on into the distance before the incident occurs. It may have been a "hand off" (no fuel refils) to the new torch but holy shit, man, there's no reason to do anything other than "hey, stop doing that"

Pretty much my thought. Sure it needs to be treated with respect, but no need to treat the person like he just stole something.

At least it was not really police brutality though. Just, way over reactive.

Right... it's not an overreaction at all to take a docile guy who isn't resisting anything or doing anything wrong, NOT talk to him or first ask him to comply before grabbing him, twisting him around, and throwing him to the ground. Ya, that's not unnecessary roughness at all. :hmm:

Damn, he can't even use the race card. And the guy was being a idiot, but it was unnecessary.

That was the most irritating rendition of Westminster chimes I've ever heard. I'd fuckin hate having to hear that 96 times per day :^/

Oh, the cops were douches. If they don't want the torch touched at all, don't run the fuckin' thing through a crowd of people.

Like I said, it was way over reactive, but if it had been a US cop, there would of actually be 4 cops that show up to "back him up", and he would of been tased non stop, and probably beaten to near death. If the guy would of been black he would of just got shot. So just saying, it could of been worse.
