So the girlfriend and I went over to visit the fine country of USA on Saturday. Port Huron Michigan to be exact. just went for the day, do a little shopping and went out for dinner at the Olive Garden.

When we ordered, the waiter said to us "So you folks just come over to do a little shopping ?" So I asked him how he knew we were Canadian... We had American money, everything else... but he knew. The reason he gave us, was the way that we said "Glass"

I say "glASS" with a long A sound... and he said it "glaYass" but really fast... really pronounced the letter A.

So, let the voting begin. Who is right ?

I say glass so that it rhymes with mass.

But that brings up the question... How do you people say "mass" ? mayss, or mASS... ?

Here in Panama City, we have tonnes of canadians who visit in the winter, and they're easy to pick out ;)

You say "glass" with a long A? So it sounds like "glayce". That's messed up.

I can usually spot a Canadian a mile away, it must come from growing up around them. It is a very easy accent to pickup.

Polite, gentlemanly, caring individuals. They're hugely out of place down there. :D
