Canada votes alone for Israel

47 nations voted and we are the only ones that refused to condemn the military offensive in Gaza.

I get banned from here for a week for making "Jewish Run" country comments. You should take back your assumptions about me, it's clear we know who is running Canada.

I'm disgusted with this country.

Weird, I thought Canada was full of anti-semites.

 to Canada for having balls and voting for the right thing.

Pro/Anti Semite != Pro/Anti Israel

You're right, but anti-zionism = anti-semitism.

If that gets you banned, I know someone else who deserves a ban. :Q Beyond the two days he got for trolling in OT.

Maybe Canada has some invasion plans of their own, and they don't want to look like hypocrites? :Q Is anyone guarding North Dakota?

FYI, your topic title is accurate (at least the way you intended it to be read), but the text of your OP. Canada was not alone in refusing to condemn Israel's actions. 13 nations abstained.

This is utterly silly, Zionism is a sub-sect of Judaism about as old as the Mormons.

"Zionism" was coined as a term for Jewish nationalism by Austrian Jewish publisher Nathan Birnbaum, founder of the first nationalist Jewish students' movement Kadimah, in his journal Selbstemanzipation (Self Emancipation) in 1890.

One can reject Mormonism and still be a Christian? Does rejecting the Mormon sect of the Christian religion make you Anti-Christian? You fail.

Hamas needs to be removed one way or another, a cease fire that leaves them intact will prolong this conflict leading to more death and suffering on each side. Palis need to create for themselves a government that has their interest in mind and does not commit crimes against them or the Israelis.

BTW, I'm Canadian.

You can't even begin to consider the conflict ending until there are two states. Or a genocide, but that won't happen. It will either be fighting and bickering back and forth on both sides, or two contigous and reasonable states. It will probably still be bumpy after that, but until Palistine is its own country with control of its borders and a real government there isn't a chance for change.

I think 90% of people realize this.

But Palestinians want more than what they have been squeezed into, Israel won't give up more than it has to and so the two parties disagree. While it goes on, some palestinans will keep fighting and Israel will keep expanding and shrinking Palestine. Wash, rinse, repeat and everyone becomes diminished in the process.

US would've joined them.

Pathetic.

US isn't on that council full of terrorist states?

The United States, regarded as Israel's greatest ally, is not a member of the council.

I know you're retarded, but I at least took you as capable to read. Apparently I was wrong.

Oh, and here's something you can rub your little Zionist ass in: Bush Happily Does Israeli PM's bidding in UNSC.

Edit: And how is the "United Nations Human Rights Council a "council full of terrorist states"?! What the fuck is a "terrorist" to you? Someone who doesn't agree with your bullshit?

For your information, who in this list of countries on the council is a "terrorist state"?

Everyone but Canada apparently.

I don't like where Harper has taken Canada's policy on Israel, but this resolution was intended to be inflammatory, rather than in any way constructive.

I would have preferred to see Canada abstain from voting on this rather than vote against it, but I certainly wouldn't have had us vote for it, despite believing Israel's actions right now deserve condemnation.

A terrorist COUNTRY dedicated to killing jews, converting the world to Islam by the sword that terrorize and murder its own citizens does not sound like a good idea.

There will be no pali state until they can create a government that will work for the palis interests, one that does not work to further religious instanty at the expense of its people and sucks the d*** of countries that wish to use them against Israel in return for scraps from the table. Then they can be allowed to have a state, but not before.

The land issue is complicated, but IMHO giving them enough land to keep them from being a failed state would mean giving them all of Israel. To bad they weren't as smart as the arabs who decided it was not a good thing to kill all the jews, who have a rather comfortable life in Israel right now. -edit- Even giving them all of Israel, I still expect nothing but a failed state. Too bad Egypt would never allow gaza to be part of their country or the people who live their become their citizens, same with west bank and Jordan.

Now thats working towards a solution!

I've seen often seen people claim Palestine is a terrorist nation and that Israel needs to show more force. Israel has been showing force for decades and that has accomplished nothing. Palestinians are living in poor conditions and that probably may lead to increasing terrorist activity. It is a cycle that many supporters of Israel don't seem to notice or care about.

One man's terrorist is another man's hero really does apply in this case. You might think the Palestinians are terrorists but they don't think so. Someone is another part of the world might not think that way either. In fact, I think many things America and Israel do are "terrorist" acts. That does not make Americans and Israelis terrorists.

Obviously I can read, that's why I stated that the US isn't on a council called "Human Rights" which has members that makes it fucking ironic:

Saudi Arabia
China
Pakistan
Russia
Cuba
France

Cmon say it, tell us how you hate jews and you think Hitler didn't finish the job. Please tell us how you really feel.

1) Want to tell your fuckbuddy GWB that Saudi Arabia is a terrorist state?
2) What kind of terrorism has China partaken in lately?
3) Alright, you got me there.
4) What kind of terrorism has Russia partaken in lately?
5) What kind of terrorism has Cuba partaken in lately?
6) Now I know you're a fucking whackjob.

Please-- use M&W's definition of terrorism when responding to my questions:

terrorism: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion

While I think JS80's comment was dumb, the few countries on that list, with the exception of France (yay for puerile comments!), are pretty bad. I'll give Pakistan credit too, though, as the parts that are bad, have to do less with the government itself and more with the government's lack of control over much beyond Islamabad.

The rest just have lousy human rights records. I'd say just look at Russia's human rights record. I don't think they've ever heard of a precision attack. Russia just razes the place.

See, that's not what he said. I can't argue about human rights violations-- hell, our own hands are pretty dirty too. I can argue with someone who's too dumb to even know what terrorism is, yet still throw it around like he knows what he's talking about.
