War on Terror = Badly hurts relationship
Softwood lumber + Mad cow = Strains relationship

It has been going downhill over the last 5 or so years...
 
Canada is currently testing a 6 month maximum wait time for non-emergency type surgery in quebec. At that time one may go to any hospital in canada or the US and receive treatment for which the gov't will pay for. If implemented, I will be very envious of their health care system. So much so, I could move there for it!

I like Canadians, I've worked with and for them for many years and they are generally very friendly and very sharp people. And I also don't like the current US government and the direction they are going. The US people are extremely divided as the last two presidential elections have shown. But just wait a few years and you will see the US become much more liberal/socialist as the vast majority of young people lean that way. Can't happen fast enough for me.

For the people in other countries who say that get rid of your president and you're fine, I say shut up. We chose him and we will get rid of him when time comes. Like us for who we are or don't like us for who we are. Look past the president and look at the country as a whole.

Those who say that they don't like us are putting their politics into deciding whether they like a country or not.
