It's kind of ironic that US spends hundreds of millions of dollars a day to "liberate" Iraqis and at the same time sends a measly sum of 35 million in emergency aid to Asian regions in time of one of the largest natural disasters in recent memory. Not that it's surprising given the poor record of US' foreign aid.
As a side note; another interesting thing I noticed is that all of a sudden you can watch, on American television, destruction and dead bodies caused by a natural disaster ~ yet when it comes to Iraq and the destruction and dead bodies caused by US bombs, the US media will show no such thing. Ohh well...
Sorry for replying to my own post but I just read that in fact it is only 15 million in aid that US is sending to the regions effected by tsunami, the other 20 million is just a loan...disgusting.
Have you read what the President has been saying in the past two days? He said that aid from the United States could go into the "billions."
