There is know way of knowing the "exact" population. His credibility with statistics is now zero. Rest of the article isn't worth my time to read.

That might be a good stat. There are 300 million people in America. At least 12 million are illegals. The difference could be people claiming American citizenship who live in other countries.

every time I read the "Obama is a Muslim" statistic, I wonder if anyone is taking into account the percentage of smartasses who just plain don't like him and would say yes to anything having to do with him that they perceive as negative.

someone should run an "is Obama a clone of Adolph Hitler" poll.

No, it's not a "good" stat. Anyone claiming an exact population of the US to the nearest whole number of people is either full of shit, else isn't smart enough to realize that it's only an *estimate*, not an *exact* measure. It's likely to be accurate to within 1% maybe 2%. That's an error numbering into the millions. Thus the claim of "exactly" a certain number of people, when you're likely off by at least a million people is stupidity at the very least. His calculations based on a certain percentage of the *entire* US population, rather than the demographic polled (adults?) is even greater stupidity.

you're thinking of our brit friends across the pond ;)

No, Canadians have the Queen Hag as their head of state. As such, Canadians also believe in the peasant-Queen overlord status.

I'm pretty sure that believing that some old lady living in the UK is actually a reincarnated version of god is pretty much a mental disorder.

The point of the article isn't to enumerate to the nearest whole number the number of Americans who believe Obama is a Muslim.

Considering a US census was just done and the birth/immigration rates were just calculated, I'd say it is a lot closer than 2%. He may in fact have been exactly right considering he has a 1 minute window to work with.

Using 40% of that whole number is in error, but again, not the point of the article. In a stats class it'd be totally wrong, but whether it's 124,756,071 or 100m, it's a metric (imperial?) fuckton of people.

It's a moot point though, as that wasn't the point of the article.

According to my own highly scientific survey:

You get trolled the shit out of if you ask: but over 40% of people will say yes.

As such I would say that there are few 'real' "obama is a secret muslim" types when you factor out 'smartass'es.

weird that you describe paying for urgent child & maternal health care needs as a "waste of money"...

Does canada have a perfect child and maternal health care system? Does the US have the resources to implement the exact same plan that canada would be funding?

The answers are no and yes. Sending money and aid to the largest economic power in the world to try and improve their standard of living is a waste of money, no matter what label is put on it.

If they had earmarked the money for "curing smallpox in the US" or "building a new interstate money for the US" You probably would have said the same thing "Is the interstate system a waste of money!!!!1!". My response is the same. Urgent child health care and maternal facilities are not a waste of money, that is why we already have them in the US. What is a waste of money is trying to build up something that is already pretty good for a nation that can afford to do it themselves.

The US already has some excellent health care for maternal and urgent child care. There along side private insurance, there are a LOT of charities and charitable organizations in the us the specialize in helping with urgent child care. This is one area that we have pretty dang well covered.

Now, if canada wanted to do something that I would say isn't a waste of money, then they could take all the aid that this commentator wanted to send to the US and instead send it to a country that REALLY needs this health coverage. Last I checked, there are still a whole heck of a lot of third world countries out of there that have some pretty crappy maternal and urgent child care facilities.

I'm studying (taking a 5 minute break now) not sleeping, dipshit. Happy to see you think I should post in P&N as opposed to prepping for an exam that's 1/4 of my grade.

In any case, I imagine many African nations among others have a larger number of mass/serial murders than we do. The article provides no source for that statement and a few quick google searches turned up no legitimate statistics on the subject. So I'm tempted to believe the author's pulling that out of his ass.

Sorry if my pointing out that obviously bias articles aren't really worth my time offends your delicate sensibilities.

I'll help you out since you are studying...

Rwanda 1994.... 800,000+ dead. The U.S. has a ways to go before we even get close to a small percentage of that number.

It has created a national mental disorder that may very well tear the country apart. That is disturbing.

Yes, the point of the article was to say that Republicans are retarded.

However, he should have also included these stats: 25% of America is liberal (maybe higher, just pulling a number out of the air). So, according to Dr. Savage (he is a doctor so he must be correct), liberalism is a disease. So not only are Republicans retarded, another 25% of America has an incurable disease that probably could have been treated at an earlier age.

You do realize she's not actually head of state right? She has no real power except to get crowds and publicity for things she visits. I would take having a Queen anyday over the fucked up country you live in.

Bingo. The Queen is just a figurehead, we have no problems with her and she doesn't exert any power over us.

Atleast we're capable of living in a symbiotic relationship with other countries.

Well Canada is like the nicest country in the world. Also, 25% of us are crazy? I'm feeling a weird mix of calm and surprise reading that.
