Can you use winzip to zip something to floppy in windows and then use pkunzip in DOS to unpack it?

Add as much RAM as possible and a 540MB HDD. You'll have a nice little box.

I can't remember how to use pkzip... I have a game that will take a few disks

pkzip [options] a:\game.zip c:\game

What are the options that you do? Is it -& -rp or something like that?

This is so much fun! This is bringing me back to me geeky elementary/high school days :)

oh... will doom run alright on a 486?

I think I figured it out!

it's : pkzip a:\game.zip -&s c:\game\*.*

nevermind that's not it :(, still came up with the disk is full error. It also said it doesn't recognize 's', even though the manual said the is an accepted command!

I just chose pkzip because I though I was familiar with it :)

Brotherman, you are the man! It even made them into zip files! Does that mean I can use pkunzip to unpack em or do I still need to use unarj?

It's because .arj files are associated with WinZip. You could use WinZip in Windows to unpack them, but would need unarj to do it in DOS....

oh, now i get what you are saying :) yeah, by default winzip associates .arj files with itself at the install... but in order to unpack them you need to specify the path for arj.exe in the winzip preferences; however, winace doesnt require supports external decoders for arj, lzh, zip files.
