I'm a bit confused. I would like to build a new system, pentium 4. Can I use a regular atx case with 300 watts. Are the connectors different? I have been on some sites and they sell connectors to convert p3 case(power supply) to p4. Are they any good. What's the real lowdown here. You can count on the truth here!!!

Thank you

There are a couple of extra 12V connectors on the P4 Power supplies

I believe you can get adapters for a std PSU

The P4 motherboards have 2 case mount holes near the socket to support the heavey P4 heat sinks. A standard ATX case will not have the case mounts to allow for you to properly support the motherboard around the socket.

The extra 12v connectors just increase stability (so i have been told). If you get an Asus P4T it will fit in a standard ATX case. I have seen reports of these mobos running fine without the 12V connectors (but i wouldnt recommend it)-so it should be fine running with the adapters
