Can you use MSPaint to convert a .png to .ico?

Is it possible to use MSpaint to convert a .png file to .ico file? I am trying to make an icon file for a desktop app.

Yep, it does the job well. Very small program too.

As far as I'm aware, if paint can open the PNG, just save it as a BMP then rename it to .ico.
