I was just wondering if AMD uses the same dissable the extra cache technique that ATI uses to make lower end GPU's with the same core but with some pipelines dissabled.
some of the early "newcastle" core cpus were really just clawhammers that failed, but any new ones will really only have 512k of cache. btw, i dont know if there is any way to let the clawhammer-based "newcastles"
that sucks, what about the sempron chips? those only have 256K of cache, could they have some unlocked cache? the 3100 uses the paris core, but i doubt that that is really anything but a failed newcastle.... any info on that?
