Can you suggest me a new mp3 player?

My old ipod nano died completely. I am looking for a new mp3 player, but the market is so saturated with players and I have no idea where to find a good comparison. At this point, I would almost prefer something other than apple. Here is what I am looking for:

-replaceable batteries so the player doesn't die
-ability to play podcasts
-ability to store non-music data or use as a thumb drive ( possibly usb plug integrated)
-under $100
-capacity - 1 gb is enough
-ability to plug in a standard headphone socket

Any suggestions? I have no brand loyalty and I plan on using this mostly while exercising and driving.

I know Creative has a number of players under $100 in the capacity you're looking for. I haven't used a Creative player in a number of years, but I hear they're still good.

Is it possible to move podcast from itunes onto a non apple mp3 player?

Yes.

I didn't say it would be easy though. Easier to just get another iPod.

Can you direct me to a how I can do this? Also, do any mp3 players use windows explorer, where I can just drag and drop mp3s?

Look in the iTunes music folder, you should see your podcasts. Hopefully they will be mp3, if they are AAC you may have to convert them to mp3 using somethng like Foobar - depending upon if your new player supports AAC.

Many of the less popular brands of mp3 players allow drag and drop, but you lose out on all the management features then.

I know this is getting even further off topic, but are there any players with which it is posible to stream an internet radio station and listen to it with the player? I know the new Ipod touch can do this, can any others? Also, must you pay for the internet usage?

the creative x-fi player that just came out has wi-fi on it. it allows you to stream over the network so i assume it would also have internet radio
