There is a beige case that I really like, but I need it to be black. Does anyone have any experience with painting a case black with any success, or am I just being silly by entertaining this thought?

Second question: If I buy a case that is labeled a microATX case, does that mean there is definatley NO way to put an ATX case in it? I hate how ATX cases are so big and bulky.

People paint their cases all the time. Its actually fairly simple. A bit time consuming, but its mostly common sense. Just like painting anything else. Here, let me see if I can find you a good tutorial... Heres one Heres another (with less pretty pictures, I'm afraid)

As for your second question, I am fairly certain that a mATX case WILL NOT be able to house a regular ATX board. Standard ATX specs are 12 x 9.6 inches, and mATX is 9.6 square, so its almost 2.5 inches shorter than a regular ATX motherboard.

you can generally get powerful mATX motherboards as well though, but you will only have 3 (or is it 4) slots. Considering odds are you will only have AGP & one PCI (for sound, unless you use onboard), you should be good to go. Biggest problem with mATX cases is that cooling is usually sub par & if you work on it much, it's hard to get to the components in it.

The pc-workshop link above is what I used to paint my case. Visit My case modding site and check out the archives to see the results I've gotten with my paint work. You can get a damn nice finish if you are patient and take the time to do it right. It is really easy, although somewhat time consuming, to paint right. Just don't rush it.
