Can you still haggle with car dealerships?

I'm not sure because they say that the prices on the website are the "default" prices. Can you still haggle and get a lower price?

Well I'm looking into a new civic, 2005 or 2004...

Whats the lowest price you think you can get for the DX trim?

how are your haggling skills? if they aren't that great, I suggest buying from the fleet manager. they usually have a set price thats pretty good that you can call around the dealerships, asking for the fleet manager and their prices and compare.

They are pretty good. That's good advice though, Thank you.

It's harder to haggle over a high-demand car. I'm sure the 2006 Civic is high demand. Judging from your original post, I suggest having someone experienced along to help you negotiate. 😛

The end of the month is usually the best time to haggle. Dealerships have monthly quotas to meet and salesmen sometimes have monthly competitions to win. If they're coming up short, they're more willing to negotiate.

I'm going to the dealership just before christmas. I hear that's a good time since everyone buying gifts and they dont want to buy cars. I'm thinking around dec 14-20. I'm looking at the 2005 civic because it will probably be very cheap at the end of the year, and since they dont sell much in dec.

If you have a membership with costco you can get great deals with certain dealership. Something like a hundred or two over invoice. No haggling needed, all you haev to do is find the car you like.
