Just imagine how much the left love the daily rantings from the likes of Patranus, BarrySotero, et al here then.

I didn't have much to work with in the word Democrat, but I think it was a fitting response to the total nonsense that was the original statement about the gop.

Guess I could have gone with "You can't spell liberal without l-i-b-e-l", it's all the same nonsense.

One thing I don't understand is this:

I turn on FNC this morning to see how many people showed up in DC, and see that Glenn Beck didn't even show up to this thing he's been promoting for months? He's in his NY studio?

ABC news is reporting 2+ million people in DC.....

With people still on their way.

Wasn't the actual total of the "million man march" around 150k?

Didn't Bush leave half of the $780B bailout for Obama to spend? I sure don't recall Obama telling Congress he didn't want it or his Treasury Secretary not to spend it.

I guess I am a racist now because I disagree with Obama continuing a program implemented during Bush's term? Or do I get a pass on that one since Bush started it?

Your point? Even if FOX and its ilk are actively engaged in sedition, they are still within their rights via amendment 1 (freedom of the press, specifically). Are those who recognise the constitution pussies nowadays? Sheesh....

What about the people who call Bank of America the "Bank of Obama" even though it was the Bush administration that forced the mergers with Countrywide and Merrill Lynch? And the mergers were completed before Obama took office?
Or then there's the fact that the Republican candidate, McCain, had even grander and more expensive bailout plans than both Bush and Obama? And yet, for some reason, Republicans insist on putting all the blame on Obama. It doesn't make sense.

So it's not too much of a stretch to think racism is to blame here. Now I don't agree it's racism (except for the birther nonsense, which is obviously racism), I think it's something different. I think it's base partisanship. I think the party of responsibility refuses to hold its own leaders accountable. The Republican membership doesn't punish their leaders when their leaders act like Democrats... and then (for some reason) can't figure out why moderates don't see the point in voting Republican anymore.

If you think sedition is being committed, then the only reasonable response to sedition is criminal prosecution. It's either covered by the first amendment, or it is sedition. No "and".

Of course, the only reasonable response to a government acting under the name of "sedition" when it is really a first amendment issue is real sedition. So I think it is cute that the leftie keyboard warriors, who so vigorously fought against this very notion when the GOP was pulling the whole treason/patriotism act during the past 7 years is quite happy to pull out this card, about health care reform of all things.

Own congress (60 seats in the senate), the presidency, the supreme court on the next retirement, and still a bunch of whiny pussies. Mean old GOP, tricksie GOP! Acting all like the opposition party!

It is plausible that they are actively engaged in sedition, but that is something very difficult to prove even if they are 100% guilty of it. They can flirt with it all they want, but unless they cross that line, they are still protected by press freedom. Besides, not all forms of 'sedition' are things that we can prosecute. Note how the definition of what has been called sedition has changed over our history. Sedition Acts ring a bell?

If you think that the left is only now calling out FOX and the GOP for its practices, then you haven't been paying attention. The propaganda has been cranking out full-force for a long time. The birthers, the 'secret muslim' crowd, the 'omgsocialism' crowd, and yes, the death panel crowd are just the recent examples in a long line of FOX escewing traditional journalistic principles and persuing its own idealogical line.

Finally, you have to be blind to not see that the Democrats are not as cohesive as the GOP. No they do not have 60 seats in the Senate - there are at least two independents and in case you missed it, one of their most senior members died. If you really want to see how legislation can be rammed through just flip their roles and see how much more the GOP would do with a fillibuster-proof majority to shut out the opposition. This is nothing.

Look, I would like to vote Republican again one day and I do value the role of the opposition party in our political system. Believe it or not, I consider myself a social conservative but no longer use those positions to determine who I should vote for precicely because of the GOP using them as smokescreen. There are plenty of principled positions to oppose the Democrats' efforts. I rarely see this from the GOP anymore. All I see are lies, half-thuths, empty sloganeering, and opposition for nothing other than opposition's sake - all being egged on by their primary "journalism" outlet - FOX. At least the moderates have finally begun to wise up... Is it sedition though? Only time will tell. For now, I have my suspicions...

I didn't hear any of the "Bank of Obama" stuff but I will take your word on it. Blaming the other team, regardless if the blame is valid, is status quo in Washington. When was the last time you saw any of them willfully take responsibilities for their actions? Or is it much more common to see them blame someone else for their policy/action failures? Now all of a sudden when Obama is treated to the same rules its racism? Give me a break.

It didn't make any sense to blame the entirety of the housing boom or our current economic situation on Bush but that sure as hell didn't (and still doesn't) stop anyone, including Obama's party and to a lesser extent Obama himself. It doesn't make any sense for someone to be outraged over bonus payments that they personally guaranteed through legislation. But none of this is new, Washington politics never make any sense.

While Obama shares some responsibility for helping create this mess, which he will never admit, what is he doing to stop it or prevent it from happening again? Where are the indictments for the massive fraud that happened? Where are the investigations into the obvious frontrunning in the market? We have Congressional hearings over wall street bonuses but when the banks, who just got their asses saved by the taxpayers, rape and pillage those same taxpayers a few months later Congress and Obama seem to overlook that. Why isn't it fraud for banks to rearrange transactions to maximize the amount of fees they can charge you? Why is it that there are days when over HALF of all shares traded are comprised of 2 technically bankrupted corporations (basically to big to fail firms selling the same stock back and forth to each other) and no one even asks a question? When the hell are they going to start prosecuting the assholes who have defrauded millions of Americans out of trillions of dollars?

I wonder if those same people are large contributors to political campaigns (both parties, they hedge their bets)?

Bottom line: Both parties are owned by the same masters. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

You won't hear any argument from me, I've been saying this for years... why else do you think I have such a low opinion of partisanship? The parties are jokes, and despite all the incessant namecalling, even its members are far more in agreement than they are in disagreement.

And while I agree with you about the appalling lack of prosecution of those responsible (and Obama's share of the blame in that), I'm not sure how you figure Obama helped create this mess. Democrats, yes, played their part, both parties are to blame, leaderships and memberships alike. But, except for the crooks like Madoff, etc., I don't see any single person to blame, and this mess was pretty much already a certainty before Obama even got into the Senate. The housing bust and subsequent lending crisis didn't just happen out of nowhere, it was years in the making. Hell, we were already 2 years into it by the time most people (including the stock market) even noticed what was happening in late 2008.

Estimates range from 1.2 million to 2+ million. Figure for each person there, at least another 10 would have liked to be there but couldn't or wouldn't go for one reason or another. They are the voices of the silent majority that is finally beginniing to stir. They are NOT one party or one race - they are Americans, they have every right to be there - and to be heard.

Did the GOP get rid of illegals in 16 years of complete congressional domination? They did absolutely nothing. Do you know why? Use your brain a little.. without illegals in this country, our economy would fall apart. All the GOP would have had to do was put extreme fines/criminal prosecution to businesses that hired illegals. That is it. They would never hurt businesses and fear is their game. Talk about abortion, illegals, guns, and god. Never do anything about it though : ).
