Can you specify a certain user to add to a Private Topic?

IE, I tried adding the user "Rent" to my private topic user list and it keeps bringing up usernames with the word "rent" somewhere inside, never bringing up "Rent" even if I keep trying to repeat it. I tried even searching for "Rent" with quotes but no go. Is there a magic button to hit to search the next 8 users who come up?

Oh since I'm asking dumb questions might as well as this also: how are users notified they are "invited" to a private topic? Through PM or email?

There seem to be some bugs in searching for users, it's not an issue of not displaying enough names; don't know if there's been an indication of when it will be fixed. You can't find a name such as "DAM" either, in fact it ends up returning any names that include "am" and even completely unrelated names like GFORCE100.

Users are notified they've been added to a topic via an email notification, similar to subscription notifications. There was a bug where they got that email every time the originator posted, I think that was fixed.

You'll want to read the rest of the threads in Forum Issues before you get flamed for asking questions that have already been answered.

Nope. It still happens and is really annoying. At least they removed the Auto Subscription stuff.
