Perhaps "cross" is actually the word itself.

Like if you start with the word "double" and add "cross" you get "double cross" which means to betray, i.e. to turn ones back on someone???

But then I dont see how you can add "x" to "double" to get anything...

This is bothering me too now!

This is an interesting idea, but where is the &quot;facing&quot; or &quot;turning of the back&quot; ?

Besides, if the answer is &quot;9&quot; this doesnt make that much sense because you have to use nice twice in this answer, which is kind of a stretch. But still, maybe this is the right idea...

uhhh... well the answer w/ the numbers in it doesn't sound very good to me, so what about this:

people use the letter X to replace the work Christ, i.e. X-mas
Christ died on the CROSS

therefore I thought it was Christ, yet he wouldn't stand to face you when you give his name an X, and he would turn his back on you when you give him a cross.

so... it would be Christ's arch-enemy mabye?
