Can you short the L1 bridges?

I want to know if you do a sloppy job on the pencil trick, and two or more of the L1 bridges are allowed to connet, what will happen. I read that you don't want to do that, but what happens if it happens? Also, is it better to use the pencil or the conductive pen/conductive paint. I have all 3, and I just don't know what I should do.

Lowbrassman, you will not believe all the Hell that'll break loose if you short out those L1 bridges. So be mighty careful when you're wielding that conductive pen.

It will cause the multiplier to be set incorrectly and possbily cause some instability. Each bridge needs an independent signal from the motherobard and it is the combination of these signals that tells the CPU what setting to use.
