Can you see yourself happily staying at your current job forever?

If youre satisified with your job, why leave? I dont think anyone really intends to stay forever at the outset.

Ive been at this job almost 15 years. The average employee has 10 years tenure. My boss started in 1973. Hers in 1985. Our department VP started in 1969.

Our founder is alive an kicking at 85 after starting the company in 1952. Hes still the Chairman and his son is the president since 1982.

To many benefits to leave, but burnout feelings come and go. I just like stability and security. 😕

I just started a new contract job two months ago & although I'm making very good money & like the people I work with/for, the 36 mile each way commute makes it very unlikely I'll be sticking around.

I'm quite happy now, but I would not want to be in the same position in 5 years. I would much prefer to grow and move on to something that requires greater responsibility and technical knowledge.

No, but only because I intend to advance along this career path. If I'm doing this same job in 18 months, I'm behind where I want to be. 36 months; something's wrong.

That said, I absolutely love what I'm doing right now and have less than zero desire to change careers, companies, departments, or even (at the moment) teams. (And all that said despite having 38 hours in already this week.)
