Would it be possible at all for your eyes to adjust to a room without light? The obvious answer is no but just wondering...

your eyes can adjust to a very small amount of light. but you have to have atleast some light.... without light, there would not be light to reflect off objects and hit your eyes which is what causes us to see an object...

Considering that what we refer to as "seeing" is merely the interpretation of light reflected into our eyes, if there is no light ya can't see sh!t. You should know that.

Your eyes will adjust to low light situations, but there are limits. Your eyes will never adjust to see in total darkness. However, the light detectors in your retinas are always randomly firing. This noise is not detectable in lighted situations, but you might perceive them in total darkness. There is also 'noise' through out you visual cortex, so you might see shapes, color, motion, pattern...but regardless, an such perceptions would be very short lived and non-defined.

fyi, a person can 'see' a light when 8-10 quantum hit within a single receptor field on the retina. Pretty amazing sensitivity....this is was discovered during WWII when the navy wanted to research the visibilty of ships at night. In fact, they specifically wanted to know how far away a burning cigerette would be visible.
