I am doing a new build today and need to take the monitor off one and use on the other, but hate to think seti will have to sit idle for the time it takes to do it. Thanks

Yes, you can run SETI without a monitor... I once had a system without a video card running RC5! :D

Yep, I've done it many times. I also run them without keyboard. If I don't have the system on a KVM switch, then I will at least connect a cheap mouse so that I can control it, when needed, since mine all run Windows. Video is the only thing I will plug in while a system is running.

Good luck!

/edit Micron beat me to it!

No problem at all - the monitor is just an output device, so the computer won't care one bit if a monitor isn't attached. :)

A KVM is an excellent hardware solution and one that I use both at home and work; there are software solutions as well - perhaps a look at WinVNC may help. Although I do not use WinVNC, there are people here on the Forum that do. ;)

Back in the RC5 crack rack days, I switched a monitor around all the time. :)

And I use WinVNC, I use it at work to monitor my SETI herd, because I'm too lazy or too busy to go into the other room. :)

And it doesn't take up much resources when idle. :)
