well...you gotta need a video card for your to set it up first..
and once you are done...
take it out and voila!!

but that would be too much trouble...just get a REAL cheap one like <10.00 and put it in there considering everything you need to do somehting, you have to shut it off and add the video card

I have my server running perfectly. I use PCAnywhere and /or Terminal Server
Just Setup Remote Control on the XP box. Comes out to be the same thing as Terminal Server.

Just make sure the remote server boots up and bypasses or automatically enters the password. For me, my machine logs on, PCANYWHERE loads and locks the machine so iut remains secure, but can be controlled :)

Check my systems for specs.

I only needed cards and stuff to set it up. Now all ihave plugged in is a power cord and a cat5 cable.

PM me if you have any more questions...good luck

No, you cannot boot up without one, but why can't you go to a local small computer store and buy a used videocard (some old PCI 2 MB Trident) for $5?

It will stall at the post screen without one. May not even get there. May just give you a series of beeps indicating a Video Device Error.

Nah, I'm just talking about XP Pro. I thought you could boot without a video card if you told the BIOS to "Halt on NO ERRORS". Is that right?

As in a machine with Windows XP installed that serves the function of a server.

The computer will not even POST without a video card. Beep beep beep...
Just put an el-cheapo video card in there - even a broken one. :) Just something with a Video BIOS that allows the computer to POST and Boot.
