I know its a crazy question but I really want to know.
I know it easier to just flip the fan but I Made my own 60 to 80 mm adaptor and it will take a lot of work to flip the fan.
I just want to compare blowing versus sucking in my system.

I have a SVC golden gate and placed a 80 mm enermax via metal wires. I am too embarassed to post pics since it looks ugly but I was able to mount the 80 mm fan.

LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS A CRAZY AND DANGEROUS IDEA

The problem with just flipping the wires is that you will have the red wire.. or yellow whichever it is.. going into a black (grounding) wire.. that will just short and nothing will work.

Unless someone has a walk through on this.. I would attempt it.. Unless you get know how of electronics from a book or something.

I could be wrong, but I don't think reversing the polarity of DC fans will change the rotation. I seem to remember reading that somewhere. But again, I could be wrong.

Most fans have reverse polarity protection. If you hook it up the wrong way it simply does nothing. They're designed to push air in one direction and the manufacturers have ensured that's the only way they'll work.

If you want it to go backwards, hook it up to the -12volts line. But you would have to splice it from your ATX connector, and the -12volt rail is not meant for loading a FAN with

just physically mount the fan backwards, since they flow in one direction only, when you flip it over it'll be flowing in the opposite direction that it was.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but DC fans will only accept current in one direction. AC fans will only spin one direction due to its electronics that automatically adjust to the AC's switching power...

I tried my ol' vantec with both sucking and blowing and didnt see any difference, but most people say blowing is better.

Just take it off and turn it around, or just leave it be.

the blades are curved and won't work properly in reverse even if it was possible.

Those fans are designed to work only one way. Hooking them up in reverse will destroy the fan. I know this from experience.
To clarify, I don't mean that I just reversed the 3-pin connector. This was with a 2-wire fan. Reversing polarity for computer fans is not good for them at all.
