Can you register a new AIM name?

I'm trying to register a new AIM name and it keeps saying "Sorry, we're not able to register you right now. Please try again later." and it's been saying that ALL FREAKIN' day.

Does it work for anybody?

Maybe they banned your IP for abusing the service or something.

I tried it work from, and asked my gf to try it from her house. I even tried my yahoo, spicytuna emails, and hotmail accounts.

You know, you don't need a valid email address. It's works with some made up address, like 23rfggg@geico.com. Just make sure you remember your password.
