Can you really stick a keyboard in a dishwasher?

I have never done it myself, but Leo Laporte of the TWIT podcast network has said he does it and it works fine. Although he also says to be prepared for it not working.

The key seems to be making sure the keyboard is completely dry before plugging it back in.
