Can you play Super Mario on a PS2 or dreamcast?

Ok, the last console I owned was an NES, but my sis wants to play Supermario Bros (she likes the one that was on the SNES) and I was wondering if it can be played on a ps2, gamecube or dreamcast?

I've heard you can put modchips in these, and that you can modify the Dreamcast a lot, but I don't know any details.

Or will it be easier to just buy a SNES with a few games?

When I owned a DC there was an SNES emu out (but incomplete). It was a boot disc image and you burned the ROM's on another disc. I'm not sure if they fixed the slowdown problem since I sold it.

You can emulate them on your PC. As far as consoles, I am sure there is a way to do it, but I do not have that information.

There is an emulator for the Dreamcast called NesterDC that will allow you to play NES games on it. You need a CD burner and the Nester files, which are found Here, but I can't help you in finding the roms. Having the roms without owning the original cart is illegal, so thats all I can tell you. Good luck.

Do you mean the SNES conversion in Super Mario All Stars or Super Mario World?

If you have the cash, you could probably buy a used SNES and a few used games
at any game shop... the Mario games should be relatively easy to find and cheap
(like maybe $20 for the system and a few dollars for each game)

The super nintendo emulater was finalized for DC and Im sure it included Super Mario. That was a while ago however and you may have trouble finding it. Anyways good luck.

Somewhere with my DC stuff, I have the snes emulator burned onto a CD. I burned Super Mario World onto the CD with it, just so I didn't have to have the snes hooked up to the TV to play it (I get a Mario craving every now and then and have to run through the game and beat it 😉)
