Can you overclock an Apple Cpu?

Basically has it ever been done, and also with the g4 or g5? I'd just like to see what it would yield.

Never heard of an overclocked g4 or g5. Back in the day I thought someone had overclocked a performa or something or other.

Yes, I believe that some G4 mobo's have an FSB jumper that you can mess with in the vain hope of getting some more go.

I know that G4's can be overclocked. There is a jumper that let you set it to different speeds. The G4 my dad uses, an 867mhz, I saw overclocked on a website to 933 and 1ghz.

Overclocking a first gen G3 (I think that's the series) used to involve desoldering and soldering a board-level resistor, those really small, flat things. That took nerves of steel or a bottle of whiskey handy.
