HP has trinity desktops out for like $600.
Can you OC them or not? Or is the MB totally locked down?

I would also assume you cant overclock them. More to the point why would you want to overclock? If you want better CPU performance go with Intel. If you want better graphics, add a mid range discrete card. IMO Trinity is attractive (relatively) in laptops, but I dont really see much place for it on the desktop, at least at the 600.00 level.
If you are looking at pre-built desktops, you can find a lower end i5 for less than 600.00. It will have a weak power supply, but add something like a 50-100 dollar 6670 that does not require an external power connector, and you are good to go.
