I was wondering if you could take a key and then stamp it into clay ( so you would have a clay stamp of it duh) and then somehow make a key out of that stamp. Pour liqiud nickle in there or something. Im interested and was jw.

The wax impression acts as a mold.

I've given up the cat burglary so I've forgotten the exact steps for making the key copy from the wax impression.

Yes it is possible. In India, on two different occasions, I have even seen them make a key from sratch

Both of the keys made were for vehicles, the seond one was for a SBK, so it's not because it was an Indian vehicle ;).

Also, I have heard that you can get an imprint on a soap and do it as well, but if you go in to get a key made without the original key, and take prints (whether they are in clay, wax, soap, or whatever) you may be prosecuted.

It's easy to do and you don't even need an imprint. When I first bought my truck, it came with a single key for the driver's door; the passenger/accessory key was missing. I drove over to Davis Lock & Key, walked in, gave the guy my key. He looks at it, scribbles some numbers down, and gave me my key back. Then he just grabs a key off the wall of seemingly billions of keys, throws it on the machine, sets a series of pins quickly in place, and pops a new key out. It worked. :Q I asked him how and he said that he's been working with keys long enough to look at a key and know how many pins will be in the lock and how long each one of them will be. :Q
