Can you load mp3 on a usb reader and use it on a Nomad II?

My Nomad II should be here tomorrow and I was wondering if you could load (ie copy mp3 files) mp3 onto a smartmedia card without using the nomad II usb connection. I have a smartmedia reader and would just save the hassle of plugging in and it different usb devices.

i would rather plug in the nomad usb cable than taking the smartmedia card out of the reader and plugging that into the nomad.

Yes, you can.

Make sure you use the SM on the Nomad II first (format it) and then put it in the reader to copy/delete files.

I would prefer the usb reader because I have other smartmedia devices and the possibility of "burning out" the Nomad just like a digital camera
