can you keep extensions/settings going from chrome to chromium?

I don't see why not. They're essentially the same thing except Chromium doesn't have the closed-source parts of Chrome such as the PepperFlash and PDF reader plugins.

You could just copy over the profile folder
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

to the Chromium folder
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Chromium
