Can you help me determine what size hole to drill?

I need to figure out what size hole I need for the two screw holes on the front panel.

The diagram marks the hole as CL, but CL itself is never defined (is this a definition that I should already know? - i.e. a standard size?)

The first pic shows 0.140 R, but I'm not sure if its pointing to the hole itself, or the surrounding material in the molded polycarbonate diagram.

What is that? I'm not telling you to do this, but being the reckless fool that I am, I'd drill holes that are too small and work my way through the bit sizes until I could get the screws to go in relatively easily. Maybe the material you're working with is too delicate for that though. *shrug*

hold it in one hand with your drill bits in the other. I think you can take it from there.

ok a less smart ass remark. I can't tell either from that diagram. My gut would say the arrow is pointing the hole. Why would you need to know the radius of the molding?

I'm ordering a 4mm thick pre-drilled aluminum front panel from Front Panel Express, so it needs to be fairly exact unfortunately.

Buy self-tapping screws.

Can't tell the exact hole size from the drawings, but, a couple of notes.
1) CL means center line. The center of the holes is on the exact horizontal center of the piece.

2) Dimension "F" on drawing 4 tells you that the center of the holes is 2.390" apart,

3) Dimension "G" on drawing 4 tells you that the panel width is 2.596" wide

That leaves .206" for the screw holes and a space to the end of the piece.

I don't think the .140 r is the screw hole size. It COULD be, but I think it's the radius of the mounting boss inside the box that the panel attaches to.

Your BEST bet is to wait until you have the actual part in hand to order the custom-made part...OR, contact the manufacturer for the screw hole dimensions.

Thanks! I do have the case and screws in hand, but I don't have a ruler that can measure dimensions that small. I'll give lansing a call and see if they can tell me.

Now that you've gotten your answer... what the heck is that?

Its an enclosure for my Millet Hybrid MiniMAX headphone amp. I have everything finished except the front plate and needed the proper dimensions so I can have FPE custom mill a panel for me.
