Edit: I'm not above making the occasional mistake. I'll at least go back and fix it.

I make plenty of mistakes. If I find them, I correct them. No big deal. I just think, if you're going to post, atleast post something interesting instead of the same "you're not your" bull we put up with all of the time. It's gotten old.

If people remembered what they were taught in 3rd grade, *their* wouldn't be a problem at all. Casual attitude just perpetuates the problem. I would say something about the rest of the world thinking we're stupid, but the OP is from Canada.

I think that's a silly attitude too. While I don't keep a professional demeanor throughout AT, I try not to be too lazy while posting. I don't see much point in switching styles (professional, ATOT, etc.) for everything I write.

i think typing informally adds to the informal atmosphere of this place.

No, I wasn't an english major. I just think it's important to write correctly when possible. It's not about bothering or not. I just don't understand how anyone with a primary school education can mix the various forms of their, there, and they're up. It should be as natural as knowing the alphabet.

Now, I'm going to bed. It's almost time for SNL.

It's not formal vs. informal. It's not y'all instead of you all or won't instead of will not. It's not a contraction, it's just wrong. We're not talking about split infinitives or anything remotely complex.

....now I'm going to bed. :)

You can type informally and continue to follow the basic rules of grammar. ;)

If it's an important document I will be careful. Here, though, I couldn't care less. It's actually too much fun to make puns out of statements which are grammitically incorrect. Stop taking ATOT too seriously and have a

Thankfully. Although I'd swear I managed to get a piece of spyware on my OpenBSD machine once... Before I turned off the software install thingy option.

careful dude! you've been hacked!!! :D

Actually, the worst thing that has actually happened to my linux box is once I came home from work and
discovered that I had over 250 virtual ethernet devices created. I was like....wtf......

Couldn't reboot, something was totally messed. I was planning on upgrading my server in the next few days so ended up doing it early. Thankfully did not lose any data. Gotta love mounting linux partitions from an already existing linux system and cp -r :)

That's wierd. :p

I wasn't hacked. It was some kind of redirect thing. Guess i should have told Mozilla not to install that software it wanted to install when I clicked on the link in the "FF has spyware now" thread. :p
