Is there a way to completely remove the recycle bin icon from the desktop? I want to keep it in the start menu only. It's possible to move it to the start menu, but I can't seem to figure out a way to remove it from the desktop completely. Any help would be great, thanks!

you could turn off desktop icons, granted that would remove all the icons from the desktop....

You could move it so it "hides" behind the taskbar too :D

thank you for the help. My goal is to get rid of all the icons, so your first choice would seem appropriate.

I really am a newbie at this stuff, how do I turn off desktop icons?

I right click on the desktop, clicked properties, then went to the "desktop" tab, chose "customize desktop" and then unchecked all the desktop icon boxes located at the top. Although there is not a place to uncheck the recycle bin. Maybe this is what you were talking about, I'm not really sure.

You can also use microsoft's tweakui program to remove the recycle bin icon from the desktop without removing all the icons from the desktop
