can you flash your vid card from the desktop?

Why do you want to flash your vid cards bios? I would highly recomend not flashing it unless your card is having performance or stability issues.

JCMKK is right ya know. I flashed my geforce 2 pro with a reference bios from NVIDIA and lets just say I thank god that Leadtek took it back!!!!

the card does not work properly under win2k, stalls the os, others here at AT suggested that i flash the mobo, flash the card, install the latest drivers for the card, use sp2, etc.

the card is a matrox g450 and the mobo is a msi 694d

when the system boots, the card can display on both screens, when the os takes over the card can do the primary screen at low resoution

when i install the driver that came with the card and try to increase the resolution the os stalls

also when i choose to have dual screens, this is before i choose to increase the resolution, both screens turn on fine, but then the os stalls

I've flashed several video cards a few times each (not just updating, but tweaking the BIOS). Never had any problems; it has to be done from a boot disk though.

Videologic now uses a windows program to update the kyro 2 bios, it's dead easy to use too. You just run the program from within windows, reboot and it's done. It can't get any easier than that.

The usual way is to use dos and a bootdisk however!

NEVER flash the bios on a branded video card with a reference bios, that's a very stupid idea which will invalidate your warranty and will probably stop your your video card from working. :disgust:
