I like the 'tax hollywood elite' idea.

Let's up their tax rate to 90% and then see how long it takes them to either move or become Republicans.

We could film it too and make one hell of a reality show "Tax the Rich"

It's very telling that the only way Pro-Jo can think of to make people actually become Republicans anymore is to create imaginary taxation of 90%.
All these rich people run around talking about how they don't pay enough in taxes so my idea was to raise their rates to the point that it starts to hurt and then we will see them change their tune on taxes.

Wait a second...if you have to raise their taxes to a ridiculously high level in order for them to complain about high taxes and become Republicans, doesn't that mean that you'd agree that right now they have no reason to complain about their taxes or become Republicans? Of course there is a point at which we all would say taxes are too high, what in the hell does that have to do with any sort of discussion about where taxes are NOW?

I mean, following your logic, I should object to people driving 10 MPH over the speed limit, because if they were driving 150 MPH over the speed limit, that would be incredibly dangerous...

So they argue that a tax rate in the 30's or 20's is too low, so you decide to take it to an absurd level that nobody was arguing for.

This is why the Republicans are losing so badly, you can't compete on real ideas so you're resorted to inventing farcical positions that you can oppose. It's just getting pathetic.

If the hollywood celebrities like taxes so much, the IRS is accepting donations. They take check, credit, money order, and cash.

Great idea. Let's stop educating our citizens, stop helping the elderly/poor/disabled/less fortunate, get rid of law enforcement, reduce state workers compensation so it's not competetive and they decide to leave to go into the private sector, and while we're at it throw in some one time fixes.

There are no jobs in the private sector in Califronia.

fixed. Can you say high taxes? Can you say Fed up labor laws? Why bother?

Taxation is a collective action problem. Your argument for people who support higher taxes sending in checks personally is every bit as stupid as the argument that people who support the war in Iraq should go over there and start a one man Rambo-style operation.
