Can you or can you not?

Snakes mean things like King Cobra, Rattlesnake etc.

Key Assumption is that you don't have access to antivenom even after a long time after the duel.

i think you really mean venomous not poisonous

A few days ago it was fighting a wolf with your bare hands, now a snake. What tomorrow? An elephant? Rhino? Tiger? Will it ever end?

yes, I have picked up rattlesnakes with a bare hand before. I would pick up the snake and strike the wolf with it like a whip FTW.

This changes the wolf question completely. If I had to fight the wolf out in the open grassland, I'd much prefer having Snakes on the Plain.

Depends on the type of *venomous* snake. Rattlesnakes? Probably, if I had to. They're not too fast compared to some much more aggressive venomous snakes in the world.

Yes. I'd step on it and, if it snapped, it would likely try to sink its fangs into my boot. Which would be a very bad fail for the snake.

when you say fighting off, i assume the snake is already either attacking you or at least aware of your presence and pissed off.

Seems to me it would be like a knife fight. no matter how good you are, you are going to get cut (bit).

You don't really get "attacked" by snakes like you can be by something like a wolf or bear. Snakes aren't territorial, they just want to be left alone. It will only bite you if it feels surprised or threatened.

To be honest, the best way to "fight off" a snake attack is to just give it some space. It's not like the snake is going to chase you down if you walk away.

I'll sacrifice my left arm when it latched onto me, then roll around on the ground, turn it belly up to disorient it, and I'm certainly strong enough to counter attack and break it neck FTW.
