Can you FEEL other people's emotions?

Ive noticed more and more lately I can actually physically feel other people's emotions. I mean everything from sadness, elation, sexual arousal, etc. Ive never been able to do that before but its been happening alot since last year. I think its kind of weird.

Does that happen to you?

edit: I forgot to mention I either have to be right next to them or on the phone.

I can read facial expressions or tell by the tone of peoples voices how they feel, and I can sometimes tell by how the person is typing. Does that count?

My wife can actually "sense" emotions of pple who are close to her i.e. me, her parents, siblings and a few really close friends. If something has indeed happened, her eyes will twitch or her heart will beat as if she just had her exercise. Really strange stuff. And strange/weird enuf, it really is accurate.

I'm the same way. My husband says sometimes it gives him the chills.

A few years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night because I heard my mom calling my name. At the time, she was over a thousand miles away on vacation with my dad. The next day, she called me and I said, "Hey Mom, what happened last night??? I woke up in the middle of the night because I heard your voice, and you sounded upset" and she told me that right about the time I woke up, my dad was having chest pains and had to take a nitrogen pill. He ended up having a triple by-pass a few months later.

Anyway, I have no idea why stuff like that happens to me, but it does all the time. My husband, who is the typical scientific engineer type, pays attention if I tell him I'm having one of those strange feelings.

My mom is the same way. She will think of someone then talk to them the next day and find out something happened.

One night I dreamed I was at a funeral, then found out in the morning that an old family friend had died.

No I can't... but I think the single biggest superpower I'd like to have is to know exactly what other people are thinking...

Here's a saying I made up for occasions like this:

If you can convince me that you're a psychic, then you're a psychic. If you can convince yourself you're a psychic then you're really a psycho.

How about this:

Maybe there are more than 5 senses, but we just don't understand how they work yet. A lot of real, respectable research is being done on the subject of extra-sensory perception, and it would be foolish to rule out the possibility that perhaps there is more than meets the eye, ear, nose, tongue, or epidermis.

<---not a psychic, but occasionally has experiences that could be called 'psychic' in nature.
