Can you export AOL mail to Outlook/Outlook Express?

I'm asking this question for a co-worker who set up a LAN for his church's office to share a cable connection. I haven't used AOL in years and he is not familiar with AOL at all.

Is it possible to export AOL mail to Outlook/Outlook Express? The only thing I could tell him was to have the person that was using AOL to forward his important emails to his new address.

Thanks

You have hit on the easiest solution - have his AOL mail forwarded to his new or other address. AOL can also save mail as a text file and that can be moved and copied as desired - however - Outlook Express does not open text files outside of its mail system. (That is why I use Eudora Pro. 🙂 )

I have both AOL and a regular ISP - the AOL is a backup account, and for some travel.

Well, AOL doesn't have mail forwarding service and lacks POP3/SMTP services also.

But... you can get POP3 services available right now by using an AOLMail interface program. goto http://www.porkchup.com and click on AOL2Pop

Right - AOL does not have auto-forwarding, but you can re-send any note to any one. Re-sending amounts to manually forwarding a note.

PorkChup - that is an excellent idea for a program, and I have book marked your site - will be tracking progress of AOL2POP. Good job!
