Can you drink alcoholic beverages without gaining weight?

I was wondering if it is possible to drink without gaining weight? I have recenly been drinkin Ginerators (Gin + Diet Tonic + Gatorade) and that seems a little better than a beer or a whiskey & Coke.

usually alcohol doesnt make you fat.... its all of the crap that you eat at bar time and when youre drunk that packs on the pounds.

Edit: BTW alcohol makes you think youre hungry, even when youre not.

Downing pint after pint of beer will put on some weight in a hurry too.

I dont ever eat anything before I go to bed on nights I go out drinking, I am just pretty hungry when I wake up.

You're familiar with the term "beer belly", I trust.

Alcohol has caloric content just like anything else. Drink a lot of it and you're going to put on weight.

Would wine be a little better for you then?

I would also say it's not so much that alcohol is particularly bad, even beer, but I don't go out and drink 10 glasses of kool-aide. The quantity certainly doesn't help 😉

if I'm not mistaken everclear has 0 calories.

alcohol has a pretty large amount of calorie per volume iirc... like 100 calories per shots worth of alcohol

for me, alcohol is a serious apetite suppressant. i NEVER get ther beer munchies, and usually if im already a bit hungry when i start drinking, the feeling will disappear. im also bone thin 🙁

Thats acutally the same for me, but I usually get a massive hangover when I drink on an empty stomach.

Yes, but are they calories your body can use? Gasoline can be measured in calories but I doubt you could gain weight from drinking it. (assuming doing so wasn't deadly)

Your body metabolizes the alcohol first, before anything else. While it is working on that, the other stuff is getting turned into fat. Same idea as if you eat 3 big macs instead of 1. While your body is metabolizing the first 1, the other 2 are heading for long term storage (aka weight).
