Can you describe usenet?

i use it to grab tv shows now a days, but i can get those via torrent. havent been too heavy in it for the past year or so. i dont really watch movies, i may grab a game to play off there... but i should probably just cancel my sub. If i need a movie i can borrow it from my movie freak friends. And i dont really have time/desire for games anymore.

USENET is forums.
I still use some USENET groups as they were originally intended, to talk to people.

channels and bots sounds like irc to me. i haven't been on usenet in about a hundred years tho, so i could be remembering it wrong.

sorry ... he's partly right .... nntp protocol is usenet protocal.... but yea ... the channels and eggdrops .. irc ....
