Can you copy a laserdisc to DVD?

I want the original star wars DVDs unaltered by Lucas. Is it possible to copy the laserdiscs directly to DVD? Then I would buy the lame ass special editions so that I actually purchased star wars, but then I could hopefully watch the origionals with a clear conscience....
 
I have the original trilogy on DVD copied from laserdisc, so I'm going to have to say "yes" to the original question 🙂
 
Can't you just play the LaserDiscs and capture them to your PC like you would any video file... And then just burn that to DVD?

I don't know of anything to do it all at once though...
