Can you convert Ipod drives into Fat32?

i was just thinking about this last night.
i'm sure someone else has already come up with a solution.

In 2K/XP, I would assume you connect it to the machine and make sure it works properly, then go into Disk Management and partiton/format.

Just be careful. You could kill your iPod by repartitioning.

on a separate note...
besides rio, what are some of the other HD driven mp3 players?

any other with firewire or usb2?

theres one other called archos. but none are small and easy to use as an ipod yet😛

Check out these forums for tons of info on the Ipod with Windows. You are better off leaving it formatted for the Mac and using Xplay with the PC. This way it will always work on both platforms. If you go fat32, good luck ever getting it back to Mac format.

I have been researching this for a while and am pretty sure I am going to go with the 20GB Mac versions and use Xplay with XP. The Windows version of the Ipod is 3 weeks away, so I think I will keep researching for another week or so.
