i just built my sister a a box and she lives in maui. shes flying home next week and i want her to carry it on the plane so i dont have to ship it or so it won't get damaged. will the airport allow some1 to carry a minitower (antec sonata case) onto a plane or is it too risky. don't they make people with laptops turn them on first.. how would that work with a minitower. anyone ever done it before?

I dont know about that one... I guess if it's small enough they will, but, it would probably be easier to just ship it.

No problem at all. I carried my Shuttle on and there wasn't a problem. They rubbed the outside with a clothe to test for explosive chemicals btu there was nothing to it.

Therefore don't coat your case in black powder.

I've done it, too, but pre 9/11.

As a precaution, though, I'd get to the ariport 6 hours early and with a heavily greased anus. Sometimes those gloves they use in the strip search room aren't as lubricated as you might like. ;)

month ago when i came back into the states from south korea i forgot to put my zippo back in my bag. Tried to go through customs and when they saw it they opened it up, lighted it to make sure it worked and then that was it. All my other flights i had to take didn't care about the zippo which i thought was kind of weird. They don't allow normal lighters but they don't care about a zippo? -_-

All of these people are lying to you. You can't carry it onto the plane.

I tried it last year and they took mine. They asked if anyone was at the airport who could take it home for me, but there wasn't. I asked if I could come back and get it after I returned and they said I couldn't. They claimed that everything they took had to be destroyed.

Do you want them to destroy your computer??!!! DON'T DO IT! DON'T DO IT!!! :D

I'm lying. They took a Craftsman mini-screwdriver that I had slipped into my coat pocket and forgotten.

zippos are allowed for some reason, i went through 3 checkpoints at 3 different airports, they all saw it and allowed it.
